David Dore is a pharmacoepidemiologist and an AHRQ post-doctoral fellow at the Center for Gerontology and Health Care Research at Brown University.  He received his doctor of pharmacy degree in 2004 from the University of Rhode Island.  While there, Dr. Dore was the recipient of the Rhode Island Pharmacists Association Student Service Award, the American Pharmacists Association Mortar and Pestle Professionalism Award, and the College of Pharmacy Excellence in Research Award.  During his pharmacy training, Dr. Dore focused on pharmacotherapy and he is currently a Ph.D. candidate in epidemiology in the Department of Community Health at Brown.  He serves as a peer-reviewer for a number of journals including Annals of Internal Medicine and Annals of Pharmacotherapy.  Dr. Dore is an active member of the International Society for Pharmacoepidemiology, AcademyHealth, and Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity. 

David’s research focuses on the non-experimental study of drug effects, drug safety, and quality in medication use.  He has experience working with clinical-trial data and large databases including Medicaid claims, the Minimum Data Set (MDS), the General Practice Research Database, NHANES and FDA’s Adverse Event Reporting System.  Dr. Dore has research experience in academia and private industry. He remains active in community pharmacy practice and collaborates with physicians, pharmacists, academicians and industry scientists.  He has conducted experimental and non-experimental studies of drug and dietary supplement effects in academia and the pharmaceutical industry.
