Dr. Gerardo is a physician whose training has been concentrated in the fields of both internal and geriatric medicine. He holds a B.S. in biology and biochemistry from Trinity University, and later attained his doctorate from Ohio University's College of Osteopathic Medicine. He was a resident at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, where he trained in categorical internal medicine; and he recently completed a clinical geriatric medicine fellowship at Brown University in conjunction with Rhode Island and Miriam Hospitals. Dr. Gerardo is particularly interested in evaluating health care disparities with regards to the aging Hispanic population-primarily chronic disease management and long-term care preparedness for culturally sensitive populations. He's currently working with Dr. Vince Mor and Dr. Mary Fennell examining the quality of care and cultural competence of long-term care settings for aging Hispanics.
